Welcome

Situated within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Western Australia, the Multimedia Centre (MMC) is a teaching and learning facility that looks at new and innovative ways of utilising educational technology in the learning process.

An important part of what we do is to introduce greater flexibility into the ways in which educators teach, and students learn.

Innovation is a keyword for us, whether it is in encouraging students to be innovative in their use of multimedia in learning; or in our own investigation of the power of digital media as a teaching tool.

The MMC has two key areas of activity:
  • Learning Systems: the development of educational technology tools to support teaching and learning activities at UWA (including IdeaNet and Simulation Builder)
  • Student Projects: the management and support of projects, mostly within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, utilising educational technology
